Be Sealed with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Confirmation
At St. John XXIII, preparation for Confirmation is typically done during a student's 8th grade year. However, if a Baptized person has chosen to delay or has missed the opportunity to prepare for this Sacrament and are still in 8th - 12th grade, they are invited to prepare with our group. If you are graduated from high school or older, we encourage you to be part of OCIA.
We prepare through community building, a retreat, performing Corporal Works of Mercy and a discernment process (this is a process to prayerfully understand what Confirmation is and to decide if the student is ready to commit to the responsibilities of being a "Confirmed Catholic"). Lastly, throughout the preparation time, we will grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Confirmation will be meeting on Sunday evenings (6:30-8:30 p.m.), which will include a meal. There will be a few sessions in the fall semester, with hitting preparations harder during January and being Confirmed in the spring.
