50^North is a social group geared to those who are 50 years and older (or close to it-- we’re not fussy!) We’re in to all kinds of events and activities every month.
Our ministry is dedicated to serving senior members of the St. John XXIII Catholic Community by nurturing their spiritual growth, promoting their social connections, increasing their knowledge of their faith, and providing compassionate outreach to those seniors who need it.

LTC/Funeral Homes Presentation
Our parish senior group, 50^North, is sponsoring a two-part discussion on issues affecting the elderly and those who care for them. Since the information is so widely useful, we are inviting all interested parishioners to attend, regardless of age.
Part 1 of the discussion covers “The Pitfalls of Short and Long Term Care.” Our speaker, Julie Waidelich-Roberts, will share the many mistakes people often make and the things they wish they had known before it was too late when deciding how to care for their families. There are many tough decisions that must be made, and by familiarizing yourself with key terminology, understanding costs, and exploring various care options, you’ll be better prepared if the need ever arises.
Part 2 of the discussion, “I’m Dead—Now What?”, will offer help in handling practical aspects of the death and funeral arrangements for a loved one. Local funeral home staff will guide us through ways to make the final arrangements for yourself or your loved one less stressful. The option of a prepaid funeral will also be covered.
These presentations will be offered in Roncalli Hall on March 15 at 3:00 p.m. After each topic is covered, separate breakout groups will be held to give participants a chance to ask questions they may have. There is no registration needed and it is free to attend. We encourage you to consider spending some time with us to become informed about the options that are available as you or those you love age.
